 The Walkathon is here—our BIGGEST and ONLY fundraiser of the year! Every dollar raised supports DES kids with field trips, swimming & bike lessons, books, popcorn Fridays, visiting artists, playground equipment, and so much more. Students earn fun prizes like treats, raffle entries, ice cream, donuts with the Douglas Police, and even lunch with Mrs. Gust. If we meet our goal—she gets slimed! Join us for the big family celebration at Beery Field on October 3rd!

Douglas Elementary School PTO

The Douglas Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit group made up of dedicated parents, caregivers, and staff working together to support and enrich the educational experience of every student at our school. We meet monthly during the school year to plan, coordinate, and fund a wide variety of programs and events that build community, enhance learning, and celebrate our amazing students and teachers.

PTO Description:

Thanks to the support of our volunteers and donors, the PTO proudly funds and organizes:

• Community Events: Welcome Night, Bye Bye Breakfast, Family Dance, Eloquence Day, Game Day
• Enrichment Activities: Reading Month programs, Screen-Free Week, Visiting Artists, Artist in Residence, Holiday Workshop
• Outdoor Learning: Outdoor Experience, including our three school gardens
• Health & Wellness: Popcorn Fridays, two weeks of paid swim lessons for all 2nd & 3rd graders, Positive Behavior Incentives
• Support for Teachers & Classrooms: Teacher Appreciation Week, Classroom Supplies, Sunshine Cart, School Supply & Snack Closet
• Equity & Access: Bussing for all school events, field trip costs for all grades, reduced costs for after-school clubs
• Learning Resources: Classroom library books, March Madness book program, new recess equipment
